PARTIAL & COMPLETE DENTURES
What are partial dentures?
Partial dentures are removable dental appliances used to replace one or more missing teeth in a patient's mouth. They consist of replacement teeth attached to a gum-colored plastic base, which may be supported by a metal framework or made entirely of a flexible acrylic material. Partial dentures are designed to blend in with the natural teeth and gums, restoring both the appearance and functionality of the mouth.
These dentures are custom-made to fit the patient's mouth comfortably and securely, often using clasps or other attachments to anchor them to the remaining natural teeth. Partial dentures not only fill in gaps left by missing teeth but also prevent surrounding teeth from shifting out of position, which can lead to bite problems and further tooth loss.
Patients can remove partial dentures for cleaning and sleeping, making them a convenient option for many people. Proper care and regular dental check-ups are essential to ensure the longevity and effectiveness of partial dentures.
